A Planning Day was organized by the Office for Reparations to sensitize and empower the OR staff on the cabinet approved Reparations Policies and Guidelines and to develop a Plan of Action for the year 2022 in line with the approved policies and guidelines on reparations. This three-day programme was held from February 25th – 27th, 2022 at Pegasus Reef Hotel Wattala with the participation of the entire OR staff.  The Inaugural session of this event was graced by Mrs. Dhara Wijayatilake, Chairperson of the OR and Mr. Sarath Daash, Chief of Mission of the International Organization for Migration (IOM). Mr. Austin Fernando delivered the key note speech on “Working towards common goals and my role in reparations”.

 

During the session, the entire OR staff was made aware on different aspects of the Reparations Policies and Guidelines and a detailed Activity Plan for 2022 was developed by the staff during the session. The entire session was facilitated by Ms. Nazeema Ahamed, Director General of the OR while having a session on “The group dynamics” by Dr. Mahesan Ganesan.
